Paul Mitchell is the founding Director of APM, which was established in 2013. APM merged with City Realty in 2016 and became the City Realty Group in 2017.
Paul has many outstanding qualifications: he has a Degree in Accounting, a Master’s Degree (Business Administration with Marketing major), a Diploma (Logistics and Warehousing) and a Certificate IV (Real Estate).
After finishing his Accounting Degree, Paul started his career in the manufacturing sector with various middle management roles in customer service, sales, marketing and logistics. His experience includes 4 years working in Malaysia and Indonesia with Detmold Packaging where he completed his Master’s Degree.He then went on to manage the logistics function for Penrice Soda where he completed a
Diploma in Logistics and Warehousing. His last role in this line of work was as Transport Manager for the Mitsubishi contract with TNT Logistics.
In his mid-30s, he had a complete change of career and worked for a short period with Housing SA, otherwise known as the South Australian Housing Trust as a financial analyst, firstly reviewing the housing portfolio and the viability of SA’s housing authority.
He then specialised in Affordable Housing looking at ways to increase the supply of housing for low to moderate income earners. He left Housing SA in 2009 to commence his own consultancy business called Affordable Housing Consulting (AHC) with a focus on the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) where he took the opportunity to obtain his Certificate IV in Real Estate.
AHC went on to become one of Australia’s largest NRAS Approved Participants and Paul has been a keen contributor to the national affordable housing policy debate since his involvement with the NRAS.
Over the past 8 years and in partnership with others, Paul has started several businesses including three real estate firms with City Realty easily being the largest and most successful.
Some of Paul’s greatest achievements is completing his Master’s Degree in 1999, establishing Affordable Housing Consulting in 2009 and together with Director, Cameron Garry, establishing City Realty Group, which has become one of the top ten property management firms in South Australia within five years.
The most rewarding part of his job is working alongside Cameron Garry and his dedicated staff.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys boating, camping and fishing. He also appreciates a little bit of bush walking and cycling, going on holidays with his family and watching his children play their sports.

Born in Hindmarsh, I lived my earlier life in Birkenhead and Croydon, then had a stint at Murray Bridge before moving to Mount Barker, where we have raised three delightful children, now all adults ranging in ages from 31-38.
I have loved being a part of the Mount Barker Community since 1977 and consider having had a significant impact on the area.
I have really enjoyed volunteer working for various organisations, including Baptist Union State Executive (7 years), Pembroke School Trustees Board (4 years), Cornerstone College (11 years as Chair), and Retirement Village for profit and non-profit sectors relevant industry organisations.
My professional career has led me through the lively television industry – my first week on the job seeing the world-wide moon landing video feeds in 1969, to the fully operating tv studio live productions, and the sad transition to relay stations for the other states. In 1986 I co-designed, built and managed a major retirement complex in McLaren Vale setting new standards. In 1997 I grew a group of 2 to 4 franchised real estate offices; then having done enough commuting and working away from the place I slept for 23 years – in 2000 I decided to take a break and seek local work.
That was the beginning of my current passion and career, commencing with Sales of Dalmeny Park, followed by Bluestone and Aston Hills estates in Mount Barker and Pathways, Murray Bridge to name the majors.
Now I embark on a new venture, utilising my experience and expertise to assist other investor / developer groups achieve their goals, and help buyers by providing the information required to assist in buying land and building – making the process as smooth as it can be.
